Peer Review Process

Each article submitted to  the Journal of Socio-Economic Community Service (Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat Sosial Ekonomi) will go through an academic review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and scientific contribution of the article to the development of community service in the socio-economic field.

This journal applies  the Double-Blind Peer Review method, where the identities of authors and reviewers are kept secret to maintain the objectivity and independence of the review process.

Stages of the Review Process

  1. Initial Submission

The author submits articles through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) system according to the journal templates and conditions.

 

  1. Editorial Screening

The editor performs an initial check including:

  1. Suitability of the focus and scope of the journal
  2. Completeness of article structure
  3. Writing format suitability
  4. Plagiarism check

Articles that are not suitable can be returned to the author or rejected at an early stage.

 

  1. Peer Review Process

Articles that pass the initial selection will be sent to reviewers who have expertise in the field of the article.

Reviewers will rate:

  1. The novelty and relevance of service activities
  2. Clarity of the implementation method
  3. Impact and contribution to society
  4. Quality of analysis and discussion
  5. Suitability of references and scientific writing

 

  1. Reviewer Recommendation

The reviewer provides recommendations in the form of:

  1. Accepted
  2. Accepted with Minor Revisions
  3. Accepted with Major Revisions
  4. Rejected

 

  1. Revision by Authors

The author is obliged to improve the article according to the input of the reviewer and editor within the specified time limit.

 

  1. Final Decision

The editor will make the final decision based on the results of the review and revision of the author.

 

  1. Copyediting and Publication

Articles received will go through copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, and online publication stages.

 

Review Time

The estimated time of the review process to the final decision ranges from 2–6 weeks, depending on the results of the reviewer's evaluation and the speed of the author's revision.

 

Confidentiality

All manuscripts and the review process are confidential. Article information will not be disseminated to other parties without the permission of the author and editor.

 

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers and editors are obliged to avoid conflicts of interest in the article assessment process in order to maintain the integrity of scientific publications.
