Plagiarism Policy
Journal of Business, Economics and Management Research is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all published works. The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying text, ideas, images, or data from other sources without proper citation
- Presenting another person’s work as one’s own
- Improper paraphrasing without acknowledgment
- Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication
- Using translated materials without proper attribution
Similarity Check
All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer review process. The editorial team evaluates the similarity report carefully to determine whether overlaps are acceptable academic references or constitute plagiarism.
Similarity Threshold
The journal generally allows a maximum similarity index of 20%, excluding references, quotations, and commonly used academic phrases. Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity limit may be:
- Returned to authors for revision, or
- Rejected immediately depending on the severity of the plagiarism detected.
Editorial Action
If plagiarism is identified during the review or publication process, the editorial board may take the following actions:
- Request manuscript revision and proper citation
- Reject the manuscript submission
- Retract the published article
- Notify the author’s institution if necessary
Authors’ Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and properly cited. Authors are encouraged to check their manuscripts using plagiarism detection tools before submission.
